I was surprised to know back in September 2009 that Noynoy Aquino would be running for the presidential seat this May. Who is he? He is the son of Ninoy and Cory Aquino, both presumed heroes of this free republic. But other than that, he is a Senator. What are his accomplishments? I can’t think of any. As a 30 year old Filipino, I was there when EDSA Revolution broke out . I was 9. I felt the Cory magic. But she wasn’t enough to turn this country into a first world. The Philippines is still a third world country, and her failures overshadow her successes. Noynoy is tied up with the Hacienda Luisita. It should’ve been that this Hacienda has been given out to farmers way back in 1967. But his clan wouldn’t let this happen, and stalled any court proceedings, and it is still unresolved until now. So how can the Hacienda Luisita Noynoy be resolved? It’s been 4 decades. He was in the Senate. My point is, it should’ve started with Noynoy Hacienda Luisita. If he can’t do it, then Noynoy Hacienda Luisita and everyone in it, much more this country is doomed to the stake. So why go for a President with no achievements, is into video games even though he’s 50 years old? He may have the DNA of heroes, but not their wits. Far from it. I just hope my fellow countrymen know what they’re doing, because they fail to realize that the dream was dead back in 1983. Cory Magic died with her last year. And now this?
